Professional Bio

I have been always had a desire to help and create change. I was in my first management role in 1991 at 24 years old. I worked as an Office Manager for a small Home Health company. After a couple years, I transferred to a nearby Hospital where I moved up from business Lead, to Supervisor, to Manager. My goal was always to help employees and coworkers have the best job experience they could, while we provided the best services to our patients. 

After a decade of living in one area, my family moved to Virginia, which is where I still live. Working for two of the largest hospital companies on the east coast, again, I had different roles in management and training. 

 

Over the years being the best leader, manager, mentor, and trainer never stopped being important to me. After a full career in Healthcare Administration and Revenue Cycle, I decided to do what I love the most, help individuals. 

I decide to go back to school where I worked to achieve my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. After graduating in 2014 from Walden University I began working on my licensed in the State of Virginia. After two years I completed this and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. While I did work in areas of Marriage/Couples Counseling, Depression, Substance Use Disorders, my passion and primary work has always been in Anxiety. 

While working to get licensed as a counselor, I continued my education and completed my Ph. D. in Health Psychology in 2018. My dissertation focused on using video public service announcements to motivate people to engage in physical activity. In 2016 I completed a study abroad for 4 months to further my cultural understandings. I am also certified in Wellness and Nutrition counseling to support a balance between the mind and the body. 

While I have a thriving private practice in Richmond, Virginia, I have always wanted to be able to do more. This prompted me to create Life Skills Coaching webinars. The goal is to use the webinars (most of them under 30 minutes) as a self-help guide to give you knowledge and practice examples of how to incorporate the information into your life, so you can create the change you are looking for.
